Pokin' Fun 56

I know tradition is important to the folks who develop the pokemon games, but seriously is it too much to ask for a competent Team **** in the games, trainers that aren't there merely to stall you or provide you with free money and levels, a rival that can actually BE a true rival (Blue/Gary and Silver(?) were the only two that posed a threat to me ever and whom I ever liked. D/P's rival was ANNOYING as a character and easy to beat even when underleveled.), and perhaps being like G/S/C a bit more with retaining older "early birds" like Pidgey and Hoothoot rather than constantly making a new lineage to replace them every generation?
